El Geco is a concept for a retreat in an arid mountain landscape. The building is a single low concrete form, curved and continuous, with an organic pool wrapping its front. Inside, the rooms divide between cave-like spaces of rough troweled plaster, where walls and ceilings flow as one surface, and bedrooms under board-formed concrete vaults lit by circular openings. The fittings are few and built in, and kilims are the only colour against the concrete.
