L’Illa del Poblenou

Proposal for a residential block near Llacuna metro station.

This is a site with existing industrial structures, planned to be demolished to make room for mostly offices. As Barcelona is facing the worst housing crisis in its history and the neighborhood of Poblenou is full of vacant office spaces, the proposal challenges the current 22@ zoning and imagines a residential complex with a shared courtyard.

The site probably is the last one in Barcelona where the opportunity to develop a full Cerdà block exists.
