Barri 3X
Barri 3X is an independent study for the architectural design of the housing plots at Les Tres Xemeneies, Sant Adrià de Besòs, developed without a commission. It aims to recover the character of Catalan architecture, support neighborhood life and local commerce, and respond to the site’s coastal setting and industrial history.
The approved Tres Xemeneies masterplan sets out the streets, the coastal park running down to the beach and the conversion of the old turbine hall into a media hub. It allows 1,783 dwellings, including 714 protected homes, half of them for rent, at a density of 3.86 m²st per m² of buildable land. More information on Consorci del Besòs.
